Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
The International Journal of Commerce, Management, Leadership, and Law (IJCMLL) is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in academic publishing. This policy outlines the responsibilities and ethical conduct expected from authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to ensure a transparent, fair, and accountable publication process.
- Responsibilities of Authors
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original, appropriately cite sources, and avoid any form of plagiarism.
Accurate Reporting: Authors should present their research accurately, providing sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work.
Data Integrity: Authors must ensure that data used in their research is accurate, has not been fabricated or manipulated, and can be verified.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors are required to disclose any financial or personal relationships that may influence their research outcomes.
Authorship and Acknowledgment: All individuals who contributed significantly to the research must be credited as co-authors, while others should be acknowledged appropriately.
Avoiding Duplicate Publication: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently or republish content without clear acknowledgment.
- Responsibilities of Editors
Editorial Independence: Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript's academic merit, without influence from external factors.
Confidentiality: Editors must treat all manuscript submissions confidentially and must not disclose details to anyone outside the editorial and review process.
Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest, transferring responsibilities to another editor if necessary.
Fair Review Process: Editors must ensure a fair and unbiased peer review process, selecting reviewers who have the expertise and are free from conflicts of interest.
Ethical Oversight: Editors are responsible for addressing ethical concerns in submitted manuscripts, including cases of suspected plagiarism, data manipulation, or ethical misconduct.
- Responsibilities of Reviewers
Confidentiality: Reviewers must keep the content of manuscripts confidential and refrain from sharing or discussing it with anyone outside the editorial process.
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with reviewers providing clear and constructive feedback without personal criticism.
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their objectivity, recusing themselves if necessary.
Timely Response: Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe to ensure a smooth editorial process.
Integrity and Ethical Vigilance: Reviewers should report any suspected ethical issues, such as plagiarism, data falsification, or other research misconduct.
- Responsibilities of the Publisher (Notation Publishing)
Maintaining Ethical Standards: Notation Publishing is responsible for ensuring that IJCMLL adheres to ethical publication practices, supporting the journal in addressing ethical issues and enforcing ethical policies.
Corrections and Retractions: The publisher will collaborate with editors to correct or retract articles if ethical violations are discovered post-publication.
Transparency in Fees and Processes: The publisher must ensure transparency in publication fees and processes, ensuring authors are fully informed about costs and policies.
Intellectual Property Protection: Notation Publishing will uphold copyright and intellectual property standards, protecting authors’ rights while ensuring proper use of published work.
- Addressing Ethical Violations
The International Journal of Commerce, Management, Leadership, and Law (IJCMLL) takes ethical breaches seriously. Allegations of ethical misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, and corrective actions, including retractions, corrections, or bans, will be applied as necessary. IJCMLL follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to address issues of ethical misconduct.
